How the VA Rates Urinary & Prostate Conditions

Prostate and bladder conditions rate on their worst-fitting dysfunction: leakage, frequency, or obstruction. Nighttime frequency is the easiest to document and the most underreported — waking twice a night is already 10%; five times is 40%.

Evidence That Wins This Claim

  • Track night wakings for two weeks — bring the log to your exam.
  • Medication-caused frequency (e.g., diuretics for a service-connected condition) supports a secondary theory.
